  34.   Some of these shareware authors just never seem learn ... no matter how
  35.   hard you try to protect your work, someone, somewhere, out there, will
  36.   unprotect it!  So here we are, with Volume #2 of a bunch of popular
  37.   nag-ware PCBoard PPE's for you.  Like before, the reverse-engineered
  38.   source is included along with the original zip package of the PPE.  See
  39.   CRACK.DOC for contents of this volume and any other notes.

  41.   Ah heck, while I'm in the process of typing the release notes for this
  42.   nfo, I might as well take the opportunity and make a statement regarding
  43.   ppe/coding/pcboard/whatever in general... Since now that everyone and
  44.   their grandmother is either: 1) on the internet, 2) using the decompiler
  45.   to rip ppe's, or 3) both, the PPE coding scene as it is has died somewhat
  46.   and has gotten a really bad name.

  48.   Regarding #1, bbs's will never die out (at least not for a long while). 
  49.   They will just evolve to be more internet oriented.  Not everyone can
  50.   run their own ftp site, so bbs's are the solution.

  52.   Regarding #2 ... it bites.  There are so many groups in the scene with
  53.   a little ppe/coding division, but deep down inside of most of their
  54.   coders, they all want to be in PWA (you wouldn't believe the number of
  55.   applicants that have come looking for me).  But let's face it, unless
  56.   you all start releasing source code with your work, as far as I and
  57.   numerous other people are concerned, most of what you do is decompile,
  58.   rip, and recompile other people's work.  If it's not that, then the
  59.   PPE release is just something too damn worthless anyway (ie: another
  60.   press enter prompt, a stupid prompt replacement, etc.).

  62.   Off of the top of my head, I can think of a number of groups who fall
  63.   into this sad category: GNX, PNC, HTC, FTA, BPC, LSPD.  I'm sure there
  64.   are others, but they're too insignificant to even mention.  Their work
  65.   is so bad, I think there are many shareware authors who do better!  It's
  66.   so bad in fact, I think anyone who is just starting out in the scene
  67.   and wants to join a group just has to decompile, rip, recompile, and
  68.   join one of the above groups as a ppe ripper (and then they realize they
  69.   want to be in PWA and come looking for me.. but that's another story).

  71.   So.  Now that all that crap is out in the open, I can't wait for the
  72.   hateful comments.  Posers will be posers.  We're PWA.
